Selfless Service

As Aggies and members of LEIAS, our mission is to help raise awareness about the importance of animal rescuing and living out Selfless Service in our community. Many shelters are unable to accommodate, treat, and afford all the animals that are brought in. Our objective is to raise money for those shelters that are in dire need of help, along with doing everything we can to help the BCS community as a whole. We offer countless service opportunities with Urgent Animals of Hearne, Aggieland Humane, and many other organizations in need of support, and encourage our members to uphold a spirit of service in everything they do.

Academic Success

While we encourage all LEIAS members to enjoy themselves, we also have high expectations when it comes to their academics. This organization provides our members with information for Texas A&M-sponsored resume workshops, career fairs, mock interviews, and host our own academic success workshops. We uplift our members’ academic successes through the LEIAS Deans List, academic spotlights at meetings, and achievement spotlights on our LinkedIn! If any member feels that they are not at their optimum level of success, we do all we can to help them achieve their academic goals. Additionally, we understand that without a healthy mind, it is impossible to succeed academically. The Academic Success Committee hosts various mental health workshops and stress relief events to help our members destress and recenter!

Sisterhood

We pride ourselves in being a group of strong, confident, and driven women who foster an environment where other like-minded women can grow into their potential, speak their minds, and build lasting relationships. We house a community in which our members feel a strong sense of sisterhood, support, and empowerment. LEIAS members become a part of an extensive support system where they find their home away from home. Big/Little is a vital component of that support system. Through this system, new members form meaningful connections with returning members that quickly develop into long-lasting friendships. As your chosen family grows through each generation, your connection to your fellow members strengthens, creating a deep sense of unity throughout the organization!

Leadership

As each college student is maturing into their own identity and evolving into an independent responsible adult, leadership skills are crucial for success. In LEIAS, we want every member to have the opportunity to become a leader and take initiative when possible. LEIAS members are able to develop leadership qualities through committee projects, service events, socials, sisterhood activities, and committee chair positions. Every member of LEIAS is encouraged to speak their mind, share their ideas, and take initiative in bettering the organization for others.
