Urgent Animals of Hearne

Texas A&M LEIAS focuses on being a voice for our voiceless furry friends. Our main partnership is with Urgent Animals of Hearne, a volunteer network saving pets from animal control in Hearne, but we work with any shelters that need assistance. Our primary purpose is to motivate our fellow Aggies and surround the community to #adoptdontshop! The amazing Deborah Green, pictured here, founded Urgent Animals of Hearne and made everything we work for possible! We strive to do everything in her memory.

Check out Urgent Animals of Hearne’s website here and check their Facebook for available animals!

Every year we host a Philanthropy Event, where all profits are donated to Urgent Animals of Hearne. In the past we’ve done Trivia Night, Bark-B-Que’s, Food Fests, and 5K-9 Runs. This year we had Howloween, an adoption event on campus featuring adoptable dogs from Urgent Animals of Hearne! Later this semester, we will have a LEIAS Olympics philanthropy event as well!
